What I do.

My working method is mostly on paper and combines traditional media, like charcoal, pastel, paint and ink. The final image is layered with media as well as meaning. Workbooks play an important role in my process. I revisit pages, working over images and returning to them over a period of time. Sometimes these become source material for more developed works or are finished works in themselves. Mark-making and chance [happy accidents] play an important role in my working process. I find my graphic design experience has made the computer another tool I use, digitally collaging my own works and photographs into new narratives. I studied at UNISA for a Bachelor of Visual Art [BVA].
