This series of drawings is the beginning of a body of work I began after the invasion of the Ukraine by Russia. The Ukrainian government officials kept asking the world to “close the sky” over their country. The words fascinated me. The Ukrainian national flower is the sunflower. So this symbol is where I have begun.
